"Excellent tours and excellent guides"
Oscar, Israel, Williams, and all of the Explora Ya staff were completely fantastic. We did several tours over the course of two weeks (mini-canyons, White Rock hike, climbing, Boca Chica islands, surfing at Las Lajas, horseback riding, hot springs, waterfall swimming), and every tour was great. The guides go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and provide a quality experience. My two kids (7 and 5) LOVE the guides. Each day, on our walk into town (whether we were doing a tour that day or not), we stopped in at Explora Ya to say hi. It's a great business, with great people working there.

"White Rock Trail is a beautiful hike"
We hiked the White Rock Trail with our guide, Williams. It is a half day, non-strenuous hike with many waterfalls and quaint bridges. You can easily do this hike without a guide and pay the $3 entrance fee, but without a guide, your chances of seeing the elusive quetzal and seeing all that this trail has to offer are diminished. We were fortunate to see a quetzal. Guides can mimic the song of the quetzal; they also know where to look. Our guide also pointed out transparent butterflies, which I would have never noticed without him. There are lots of butterflies on this trail, but the transparent ones are so unusual. You can only see their frame, as their wings are like glass. Also, without a guide, we would have missed going off the trail to see a gigantic 600 year old cenosa tree. Our guide also pointed out numerous plants, trees, flowers and insects. It was a splendid way to spend the morning. I highly recommend this hike. Because the length is shorter than many of the other hikes in this area, it can be done by those short on time or not up for an all day hike.

Wow - this was the tour of my life since we went at the right time and i got to be upmfront and personal with a mother and baby whale.
After that i was so stoked and Israel and the team continued to deliver all day from a great lunch on our deserted island to beautiful beaches and great snorkelling. The water is pristine and very warm and trip was should not be missed ( though no one can gauntee a whale experience).
