The Panamonte Inn & Spa
The Panamonte Inn & Spa is one of the first hotels to open its doors in Boquete in 1914, the same year the Panama Canal was constructed. It is therefore a historical landmark in the history of tourism in Panama, and our number one recommendation in the category of classical luxury hotels in Boquete due to its antique charm, impeccable service, and exquisite cuisine. The Panamonte Inn & Spa is located uptown. Just walk uphill from our Explora Ya office, pass the San Juan Bautista’s Catholic Church, and take a right at the Y junction.
The Panamonte has different types of accommodations, and all it’s guestrooms all have air conditioning (although it is really not needed in Boquete!), Direct TV, hair dryers, room safe and internet connection.
The Garden Junior Suites are the largest rooms available (3 in total), with spacious bedrooms, terraces with views over the surrounding mountains, a Queen-size bed with 500-count linens, and a deluxe bathroom with glass-walled showers.
The Garden Honeymoon Suite is the most romantic room, and as its name suggests, a favorite with newlyweds and couples. The spacious bedroom has a King-size bed, 500-count linens, a light, a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and glass-walled shower. A private fireplace adds to the charm and romance of the setting.
The brand new Garden Terrace Rooms are slightly smaller than the Garden Suites, and have king sized beds as well as a small, private outdoor seating area. They are located in the back of the garden of the hotel, and therefore enjoy beautiful Boquete mountain views. All Terrace rooms are the same size, and are tastefully furnished and exceptionally comfortable.
The Fresal 3-bedroom apartment is located just across the street from the hotel, and can sleep up to 6 guests. It has one master bedroom with a private bathroom, and two bedrooms with twin beds and a shared bathroom. The apartment has a living area, fireplace, and a small outdoor porch with sitting area.
The Standard rooms are small and cozy, and are the original rooms of the Panamonte Inn. They all come with twin beds or a queen-sized bed.
If you appreciate fine dining, you must know that the Panamonte Restaurant is famous for its gourmet cuisine, and is listed among the best restaurants in the entire country. The Panamonte has 2 dining areas – a formal dining room which offers the full menu, or a smaller bar lounge with a fireplace, a bit more relaxed, where you can order from the regular menu or the bar menu. Their steaks are exceptional!
The Panamonte Hotel also offers Spa treatments under the management of the reputable Haven Spa, which is famous for having experienced staff in the fields of acupuncture and reflexology. Spa services include sauna, steam room, signature therapy being, geothermal hot and cold stone therapy amongst others.
